Murky trails...

While travelling to work the other day, Skeety saw this Ogre of a car swoosh past the water-clogged roads, as also an old man and other pedestrians walking down the footpath. This old man that Skeety writes of, was wearing a white Kurta Pyjama(an Indian dress). And as the owner of the Ogre car whizzed by, the colour of the white spotless Kurta Pyjama of the old man turned brown.
BASTARD!!! Skeets muttered.
The old man gazed at the car with little anger, and then carried on trudging in the same manner as he was previous to this incident. His gait reflected his unperturbed state of mind. As if this was a daily occurence. As if he had forgiven...
No preaching this, but requesting all car owners to mind their wheel. Owning a car doesn't buy you a license to be rude to others.

Been awhile that I've been here. Hope all is well and your memory serves you well enough to remember who I am. :)

Take care, keep writing and see you on my blog sometime.

Loved your last line, in L.A. people feel driving does give them a license to be rude and crazy!

Some people believe that owning a car is owning the world.

Happens to me everytime it rains here. Then again Bombay roads aren't like the roads at home, everyone's in a rush, and forget splashing you, they'll run you over if you get in the way here. I've almost been hit by a bus twice here, and they don't apologize, they curse at you.

I remember once we got stuck in a similar fashion on a rainy day and had to leave the vehicle to go ahead.

I got splashed majorly by a guy last week. It was bad enough that the English weather sucks and I was completely drowned with the ridiculous rain anyway!! But when this guy drove past and this wave of water attacked me I just stood there spluttering. I didn't know what to say, there was no way I could have ever expected that, or reacted to it. I wish I'd gotten his license plate. Ugh.

what were you doing as a wise citizen ?

We don't think enough about others. Even the basic courtesies are not shown on Indian roads. Hope that changes.
